16000 vines have been planted at the Windsor Castle on May 2011. Queen Elisabeth II wishes to product her own sparkling wine. Based on the “Champenoise Method”, this wine will be made with the 3 Champagne grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Simon McMutrie, General Manager of the Direct Wines society drives the project. A 35000 bottles production is expected.
